2021 RWT Bin 798 Barossa Valley Shiraz
Overview
The Red Wine Trial that redefined Barossa shiraz at the highest level. Stylistically, RWT is contemporary, opulent and finely tuned. An interesting contrast to the well-established Grange, which is a more concentrated, muscular and assertive style. RWT is made from Barossa Valley shiraz grapes primarily selected for their aromatic qualities, varietal typicity, fine tannins and plush texture. Maturation in French oak provides another contrast to Grange.
This release shows precision, concentration and balance to age for many years. Blue and red fruits, floral notes and a hint of savory green olive add to a powerful and opulent palate.

Taste Description
Grange 2018

First the fruit - ripe blackberries/blackcurrant reduction, laced with spices – notably fennel and anise. Then a sprinkle of dark chocolate and cocoa-powder. Conceded, the presence of an ever-so-subtle yet complexing higher-tone mahogany/piano-polish/ lacquer – no doubt derived from the earth, not oak. A trepidant tension unfolds – youthful fruitiness wrestling an inky and dense powerhouse.
